Will it launch? Independent weather verdicts for every rocket launch

ALL SIGNAL · ZERO NOISE

Flightradar24 for rocket launches, with an honest weather go/no-go for every pad. Rocket Assessor tracks every scheduled orbital launch on Earth and gives each one an independent weather verdict for its launch pad: GO, CAUTION or NO-GO, with a 0–100 score and the reasons. It refreshes every 10 minutes and is not affiliated with any launch provider or range.

How is the GO / CAUTION / NO-GO verdict calculated?

Each launch starts at 100 points and loses points for the forecast at the pad at the launch hour:

FactorStarts costing points atLargest deduction
Sustained wind18 knots−45 at 35 knots and above
Gusts40 knots−15
Cloud cover60%−18 at 85% and above
Chance of precipitation30%−25 at 60% and above
Thunderstorm energy (CAPE)1,000 J/kg−30 at 2,000 J/kg and above

75–100 is GO, 50–74 is CAUTION, below 50 is NO-GO. Launches more than 16 days away show PENDING until a forecast exists. Schedule data comes from Launch Library 2; forecasts from Open-Meteo.

How accurate is Rocket Assessor?

Every verdict is frozen 24 hours before launch and scored against what actually happened. As of 1 October 2026, 60 launches had resolved and directional verdicts (GO or NO-GO) matched the outcome 67% of the time. The live record, including every miss, the calibration curve and the Brier score, is on the accuracy page.

Is this the official launch go/no-go?

No. Official launch commit criteria are specific to each vehicle and range and are not public. Rocket Assessor is an independent, indicative weather assessment. Use it to judge the odds; rely on the provider for the final call.

Is it free?

Yes. The live map and the next-launch verdict are free. Mission Control ($5/month or $45/year) adds full verdicts and reasons for every launch, filters, a watchlist, alerts and calendar sync. The Developer API is $19/month.

Can I put the verdict on my website or broadcast?

Yes. A one-line embed shows the live verdict on any page, free with attribution. Licences for newsrooms and broadcasters and for launch-viewing tours, hotels and viewing sites add data feeds, alerts and branding.
