Privacy Policy

Rocket Assessor ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the service — All Signal. Zero Noise.

1. Information we collect

We collect only what's necessary:

• Account data — when you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) stores your email address and, if you choose social sign-in, your name and profile image.
• Billing data — paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; Stripe handles payment details under its own PCI-compliant systems.
• Usage & analytics — aggregate, privacy-respecting analytics (e.g., page views, feature usage) to improve the product.
• Preferences — settings such as your watchlist and alert thresholds, tied to your account.

We do not sell your personal information.

2. How we use it

• To provide the launch tracker, weather assessments, alerts, and calendar/API features.
• To process subscriptions and prevent fraud (via Stripe/Clerk).
• To send transactional email you asked for (alerts, onboarding, receipts). You can opt out of non-essential email anytime.
• To understand aggregate usage and improve the service.

3. Third-party processors

We rely on a small set of reputable providers, each with their own privacy terms: Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (edge/data engine), and Vercel (hosting). Launch data comes from The Space Devs (Launch Library 2) and weather from Open-Meteo.

4. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management, and privacy-respecting analytics cookies. You can control cookies in your browser settings.

5. Data retention & security

We retain account data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for legal/financial records. Data is transmitted over HTTPS. No method is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location (including Canada's PIPEDA and, where applicable, GDPR/CCPA), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. Email us and we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.

7. Children

Rocket Assessor is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date.
